Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has become the latest celebrity to speak out amid the ongoing unrest in Tanzania, urging peace and unity following days of post-election violence that have rocked the country.
In a heartfelt message shared via his Instagram stories on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the award-winning artist offered a prayer for national healing and comfort for those affected by the bloodshed.
“Mungu ibariki Tanzania, praying for peace and healing. Mungu awatie nguvu na faraja waathirika wote,” Jux wrote, asking God to bless the nation and strengthen victims of the violence.

Celebrities Join Calls for Calm
Jux’s message follows similar sentiments from fellow musician Diamond Platnumz, who earlier shared a reflective post hoping for restored peace and unity after weeks of chaos.
“Inshaallah Mwenyezi Mungu atujaalie amani zaidi ya tuliyokuwa nayo mwanzo, atujaalie upendo zaidi, umoja, mshikamano, maendeleo na azilaze roho za waliotangulia mahala pema peponi. Amina,” Diamond wrote.
The two artists’ statements come after growing public criticism of Tanzanian celebrities for staying silent as violence escalated across the country.
Deadly Unrest After Disputed Elections
The clashes began on October 29, shortly after the conclusion of national elections that were marred by accusations of voter suppression, irregularities, and the exclusion of opposition figures.
Protests first erupted in Dar es Salaam before spreading to several major cities, with demonstrators demanding transparency and accountability from the electoral commission.
The government responded by deploying military and police units, imposing curfews, and restricting internet access, measures that have drawn criticism from human rights organizations.
According to reports from rights groups and opposition leaders, hundreds of people are feared dead, while hospitals continue to receive scores of injured civilians, many suffering from gunshot wounds. Numerous others remain detained in connection with the unrest.
