Black People Are No Longer 13-14% of the US Population

Updated Google search as of 9/1/2025: Yes, 2020 Census numbers were skewed, showing statistically significant undercounts of Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, and Hispanic or Latino populations, as well as young children. Non-Hispanic White and Asian populations were overcounted. These miscounts had significant impacts, including affecting political representation and the distribution of federal resources, and the 2020 Census was less accurate than the 2010 Census.

I think that ever since I was in my mid-20s, I’ve heard Black people say they don’t answer Census reports. “The government needs to stay out of my business,” they say.

I’m not a property owner, so I personally haven’t seen one since 1974 when my grandmother, a property owner, signed on as a Census Taker and I trailed her throughout Black neighborhoods “head counting.” I was fourteen (14). I have an aching suspicion that I’m not the only one who hasn’t seen one since.

Most apartment-dwellers will never see a Census or Census taker because they are what is known as “transient.” From one month to the next, nobody knows if they’re still going to be living here or there or not at all, so they don’t get counted in any way that is going to shore up those numbers.

People move around -a lot-, people get evicted, people wander here and there, they’re in one place one minute and another the next. Even schools have transient children that “disappear.”

Census Takers make a lot of cold guesses about how many people and what race or ethnicity of people are living in certain places, and plenty of Black people still live in apartments, temp housing, and swampy, shallow areas around the perimeter of the country “where alligators live and no man dares to boldly go.”

If the Head Counters won’t or can’t go there, they have to guess who lives there and what their race is.

Guess how they guess. By writing or typing in the same numbers that were reported on the last ten Censuses — even if NOBODY is living there, and especially if they knock on the door and no one answers or people answer with a gun or rifle and tell you to “GIT!”. We GIT…and guess.

Unfortunately, most of the people we walked to to fill out those forms in the 1970s either didn’t answer or refused to answer.

I’ve known Black people who immediately threw their Census forms in the trash, stating they don’t “owe” white people “free information,” and it’s none of their business, so the Census takers have to go on what they see and guess how many people are in the household, even if they end up counting visitors and/or family members who just came over for a barbecue.

Baby, when it comes to Black people — especially those who are NOT property owners, those numbers are big time skewed.

I’ve also known people who will misinform on these Census forms because they don’t take them seriously.

I, myself, while living with a friend as a transient roommate who did not consider myself a ‘member of her household’, stated that I was white. I’m 15% Scottish, so my DNA says it wasn’t exactly a lie. Bottom Line: I didn’t want my information on her Census report, period, and I know I’m not the only one who has done so. She insisted I was going to fill it out since I was there (temporarily), so I did.

For the most part, the Black American (African-American?) population was at 13–14% back in the 1970s, and it has absolutely not remained so stagnant for the past 50–60 years. I haven’t been counted on one since I was in my teens and don’t care.

We can look around and see that — especially since interracial marriage is no longer against the law, and neither is ‘interracial breeding’ — go watch some porn some of these times if you want to know what, exactly, that means — a LOT of Black people never got counted, or don’t consider themselves Black, OR “African-American”.

Many of us nowadays consider ourselves “multi-racial,” “multi-ethnic,” “Native American,” “Afro-European,” and some Black people say the only “African” Americans living here came from AFRICA. They won’t check the African-American box because, well, because they don’t have to.

Barack Obama would be totally correct to call himself an ‘African-American’ for Census purposes, but so would white boy Elon Musk. That’s just by way of example since Musk isn’t a citizen of this country and neither is Donald Trump’s wife; however, there are African-Americans here who truly don’t consider themselves ‘Black’ or ‘African-American’ and will tell you so.

We also must consider that ALL BLACK PEOPLE AIN’T BLACK or even dark-skinned. I have blood-related second cousins who LOOK totally white. My first cousin is their father, and he is Black — Mom and Dad. They would never refer to themselves as Black or African-American simply because their mother was white, God rest her.

Latest guess — all things considered with our NON-MONOLITHIC selves — is that the Black population in this country is at least half-Black, give or take a few hundred thousand that won’t self-report as Black even though they are.

I think the Good Ship Jesus has already sailed on that matter.

We can no longer tell by looking, period. Nobody knows I’m a big-ass cup of Scottish blood just by looking at me. I “look” Black/Afrocentric, but I’m also indigenous Native American and aboriginal Persian/Mesopotamian from heart and root coming out of the Eastern hemisphere on origin, pre-slavery.

The news reports and magazine articles that come out scaring white people the most? That they are set to be a majority minority in this nation by 2030. Ten years ago, it was “by 2025.” Donald J. Trump wasn’t recently offering white women $5k to “spread ’em and reproduce” for a pittance. [BTW, Trump, babies cost $5MILLION to birth and raise these days. So if you are choosing to be Government Papa, then put ALL your money on the table, homeboy, not just a Tea Cup.]

I have reason to believe whites are already a minority because “Black” people still -overall- comprise 85–88% of the WORLD’s population.

We were here first. Black people didn’t “come from” anywhere.

They/We were already here “In the beginning”— the firstfruits of the Earth and the first Son and Daughter of God’s creative instinct and will. That much has been proven by DNA and regional intersectionality.

Your 13–14% Black population is wrong, Western America, that much is certain.
