CAF Accounts Report Record 6.1 Billion Views

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted in Morocco, set new digital viewership records for the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament is being recognized as the most-watched event in African football history.

Digital Viewership Records

The tournament garnered a total of 6.1 billion views across CAF’s social media platforms. Specifically, CAN Morocco 2025 recorded 5.2 billion video views.

Global Engagement and Fan Participation

The success of the tournament is attributed to the role of the Kingdom of Morocco and the passion of fans globally. African communities outside of the continent also contributed significantly to the viewership numbers, attracting millions of new fans and users. This level of digital engagement exceeded all previous continental competitions.

Fan Interactions and Cultural Impact

Fans generated 285 million interactions across various social media platforms. TikTok emerged as a dominant platform, featuring over one million fan-created videos. This contributed to a cultural movement surrounding the tournament, extending beyond the physical venues.
