Before we turn to our main results on participants’ vaccination motives, we analyze the determinants of people’s confidence in COVID-19 vaccines.

We analyze in this section the determinants of people’s confidence in the vaccine’s efficacy and their fear of side effects. Overall, we find that 90% of people who approached the vaccination centers expected their booster COVID-19 vaccination, which corresponds to their third vaccination.
