Cristiano Ronaldo has an interesting reason for ignoring black shoes for a while now.
Max Blau, vice president of the underwear firm Nike Football works closely with the 31-year-old star of Real Madrid, as in an interview given to ‘goal’ has revealed the interesting reason why CR7 refuses to wear black sports shoes.
“I think he’s amazing, but he’s the first one to tell me: I can get better!”, he initially told ‘goal’, Nike Football vice president Max Blau.
“It puts a lot of pressure on us. We have to come up with something new to help him. That’s why we’ve come up with the new Mercurial Superfly [the boots Ronaldo currently wears].
“Every player has their favorite color, and it has been scientifically proven that the color of the shoe activates chemicals in the player’s mind. When you feel better, you will play better. The main reason for the color is to give confidence”, reports Telegrafi.
“For example, Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t like to wear black shoes because he says black looks slow and he wants to feel fast.”
Blau also believes that wearing the right shoes is essential, so much so that he considers himself to have played a big part in Ronaldo’s success.
“I sometimes say that I have won several Grand Slams, Champions Leagues and several World Cups. I believe that I share a part of this success. The most interesting aspect of my work is the chance to strengthen human talents. The key is in the person, but the product also plays a big role,” concluded Blau. /Telegraph/
