Jason Broadnax founded Moor Global in 2019. The Florida-based travel agency focuses on connecting people of African descent worldwide while integrating travel, real estate, and cultural exploration.
Moor Global was established by Jason Broadnax, who was inspired by his experiences meeting people of African descent from various countries while studying business at North Carolina A&T. The company’s name pays homage to the Moors, Black Muslims from Africa who ruled the Iberian Peninsula for over 800 years. During their rule, the Moors contributed significantly to technology, art, and culture in southern Europe, introducing advancements in areas such as health, hygiene, culinary practices, mathematics, geography, agriculture, and philosophy. They also facilitated the transmission of knowledge from China, India, Arabia, and the Americas to Europe, including the introduction of paper and the Arabic numeral system.
Broadnax aims to build Black wealth through travel and real estate opportunities within the African diaspora. Moor Global currently operates in eight countries: Brazil, Ghana, Nigeria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, and Egypt. The company’s approach involves initial vacations to familiarize travelers with a region and its people, followed by the acquisition of property for vacation homes, retirement homes, or rental properties.
Moor Global collaborates with companies such as Itravel and Gold Star Premier to provide accessible international travel and real estate options. Broadnax emphasizes that the agency’s work fosters economic opportunities within Black communities globally, keeping wealth within those communities while exposing Black individuals in the U.S. to new cultures, heritage, and knowledge.
Moor Global is expanding its offerings to include coffee tours. Information about the company and its activities can be found on its Instagram account.
