Hip Hop Dance Festival Set for March 2026

The Top 8 Hip Hop & Street Dance Festival is returning to Limerick from March 26 to 29, 2026, bringing a diverse range of events to various city venues. Organizers aim to showcase both local and international talent across a weekend of music, dance, and art.

Festival Details

The Top 8 Hip Hop & Street Dance Festival will take place across multiple locations in Limerick City, including The Commercial, The Record Room, The Church at Dance Limerick, Wickham Way, Afro Delight, Hook & Ladder, Dry Lane Studios, and The Crescent Shopping Centre. The festival marks its 5th edition and promises events suitable for all ages, with many sessions offered free of charge to ensure accessibility. Wheelchair accessibility will also be available at most events.

Festival Schedule

The festival begins on Thursday, March 26, with a free launch and conversations featuring Limerick’s Hip Hop and street dance pioneers, hosted by State Your Flow at Hook & Ladder at 9 pm. Friday’s schedule includes a family-friendly Beat Makers “Cookout” at AfroDelight from 5 to 7 pm, and a DJ Turntablism Cypher hosted by Community Scratch Games & Downbeat Records at Wickham Way from 7 to 9:30 pm.

Saturday features the Top 8 Street Dance Battle with Cyphers at The Crescent Shopping Centre from 12 to 4 pm, followed by the finals at The Church, Dance Limerick, from 7 to 9 pm. The evening concludes with a Festival Closing Party at The Record Room from 10 pm.

Sunday’s activities include beginner Hip Hop and Breaking workshops at Dance Limerick from 1 to 3 pm, a DJ workshop at Dry Lane Studios from 1 to 3 pm, and a free Beatbox Battle at Wickham Way from 4 to 6 pm. A Graffiti Jam will also be held throughout the weekend at Wickham Way.
