Huduma Kenya has refuted claims of a mass hiring initiative, warning the public about an online recruitment scheme. The agency emphasized that fraudulent appointment letters have been circulating, falsely promising employment at Huduma centers nationwide.
Huduma Kenya issued a statement on Tuesday alerting citizens to a fraudulent appointment letter circulating online. The letter, purportedly signed by the Director General, offers immediate deployment to various outlets. The agency stated that the letter is not authentic and should be disregarded. All official communications are released through the official Huduma Kenya website, the Huduma Contact and Tele-Counselling Centre 1919, and verified social media accounts.
Huduma Kenya is urging Kenyans to collect processed identification documents. As of early February, over 40,615 birth certificates, 132,083 identity cards, and 88,963 smart driving licenses are ready for collection.
Despite the availability of processed documents, some Kenyans have reported delays in receiving them. Some applicants claim to have applied as early as September 2025 and are still awaiting their documents. Huduma Kenya attributes these delays to persistent technical issues with the National ID processing platform. The agency noted that these on-and-off technical problems have impacted its operational mandates.
Huduma Kenya is requesting that the public report individuals claiming to be recruiting on behalf of the government. Citizens are advised to verify any job opportunities through the agency’s official, verified platforms.
