Jack Black sports tie-dye shorts for LA stroll after admitting his teenage sons ‘don’t want to hang with me’

Jack Black certainly stood out in colorful tie-dye shorts as he took a neighborhood stroll near his $5.9M Los Feliz home in Los Angeles on Monday.

The 55-year-old comedian was still sporting a burly grey beard as he listened to wireless headphones while hauling a black backpack to match his puffer jacket.

Jack’s (born Thomas Jacob Black) street sighting came the same day ET aired an interview where he lamented how he ‘wished’ his 18-year-old son Samuel and 16-year-old son Tommy would’ve appeared in his new holiday comedy, Dear Santa.

‘They’re at that age where they’re like, “Oh Dad, you’re so uncool. Just walk, like, a hundred yards ahead of us. Pretend like we don’t know each other,”‘ Black said crestfallen.

‘They don’t want to hang with me, but that’s okay.’

The Emmy winner’s son Samuel was the spitting image of him during a neighborhood stroll last year, and his wife Tanya Haden posted a video of their son Tommy ‘shredding on drums’ in June.

Jack and the 53-year-old cellist-painter originally met while attending Crossroads School as teens, reconnected in 2005 at a friend’s party, and celebrated 18 years of marriage last March.

Before Tanya, Black romanced comedians Laura Kightlinger and Kathy Griffin.

The Borderlands actor stars as Satan, who’s summoned from Hell by a dyslexic boy, in Bobby Farrelly’s holiday comedy which premiered Monday on VOD/Paramount+.

‘I feel like this was the part I was born to play,’ Jack joked.

‘Not that I’m evil. [There’s a] fun mischievous side to the Devil!’

The PG-13 family flick also features Robert Timothy Smith, Keegan Michael-Key, Ben Stiller, and Post Malone.

‘When I found out that [Post] was going to come down and throw down a huge cameo, I was so thankful to him,’ Black recalled.

‘And I told him, “Dude, I owe you one, bro.”‘

The Warner Bros. Pictures flick is a big-screen adaptation of Mojang Studios’ 2011 video game.

Jack is also expected to reprise his role as Professor Sheldon ‘Shelly’ Oberon in Jumanji 3, which is already slated for a December 11, 2026 release.

On August 6, Black told Variety that Tenacious D ‘will be back when it feels right’ after canceling their tour over Kyle Gass’ wisecrack about newly reelected President Donald Trump’s assassination attempt in July.

‘We need to take a break. Everybody needs a break sometime,’ The Super Mario Bros. Movie actor said of the hiatus.

‘And we’ll be back…Yeah, we’re friends. That hasn’t changed. These things take time sometimes.’

Jack and his 64-year-old bandmate co-founded their Grammy-winning comedy rock duo way back in 1994.
