Lawmaker files legislation to dedicate U.S. Route 127 to fallen police officer

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) - This week, Rep. Josh Branscum of Russell Springs filed House Joint Resolution 5, which would designate the entire route of U.S. Route 127 in Russell County as the “Deputy Sheriff Joshua Phipps Memorial Highway.”

“Deputy Sheriff Joshua Phipps was a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect his community and its citizens,” Branscum said in a release. “It was an honor to file the joint resolution designating the “Deputy Sheriff Joshua Phipps Memorial Highway” in Russell County to commemorate his legacy and sacrifice.”
