TRURO, N.S. — When Andrew Paris first got into curling as a child living in Summerside, P.E.I., he couldn’t help but notice that none of the other players looked like him.

Since April 2001, Paris has strived to change that feeling for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) youth through the Black Rock Initiative, which hopes to bring more diversity and inclusion to curling.
