Spotify Highlights Rising Stars in Hip Hop

Spotify has recognized Lil Tecca, Baby Keem, and Doechii as leading figures in the next generation of hip-hop artists. The designation comes from a fan vote conducted by the streaming platform, highlighting the artists’ dedicated followings and creative growth.

Awards, Albums, and Cult Fans Fuel Their Momentum

Lil Tecca, Baby Keem, and Doechii have each cultivated strong fan bases and achieved notable success. Doechii, who recently won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 2025 for Alligator Bites Never Heal, is signed to Top Dawg Entertainment and has gained crossover appeal through collaborations with artists like Billie Eilish.

Baby Keem, cousin to Kendrick Lamar, has released albums including The Melodic Blue and Ca$ino, featuring collaborations with prominent artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Future, Don Toliver, and Brent Faiyaz.

Lil Tecca has largely built his career independently, developing a substantial streaming presence and a loyal fan base. A common factor among the three artists is the strength of their dedicated fan bases, which are seen as a valuable asset in the music industry.

The Power of Cult Followings

In an era where trends can quickly fade, cultivating a dedicated audience is increasingly important. Spotify’s fan vote reflects the established success of these artists, as demonstrated by their streaming numbers and sold-out performances.
