Squire Patton Boggs has advised Redwood Materials, the Nevada-based battery recycling and components production company, on an agreement with Panasonic Energy of North America, the largest supplier of battery cells for electric vehicles in the US, to supply high-nickel cathode to Panasonic’s new Kansas plant starting in 2025. This transaction will mark the first time cathode has been produced in North America at gigafactory scale and used in US battery cell manufacturing.
