The challenges in cancer treatment and management in Africa

About 1 in every 6 deaths on the planet is due to cancer. More than two thirds of these deaths occurred in low- and middle- income countries. Following Syria, the countries of Bhutan (86.0), Algeria (86.7), Nepal (90.7), and Oman (94.9) made the top four in the list of countries with the lowest cancer levels.

The spread and prevalence of cancer in Africa has been alarming over the last 5years in Africa. Governments of different African states are losing populations to the cancer snare at rapid speed and action has to be taken to turn around . . .
