U.S. Breast Cancer Deaths Have Declined, But Racial Disparities Remain

Oct. 9, 2022 -- The breast cancer death rate in the U.S. dropped by 43% during the past three decades, translating to 460,000 fewer breast cancer deaths, according to a new study from the American Cancer Society.Â
At the same time, Black women continue to be more likely to die from breast cancer even though they have a lower incidence of the disease.
