The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has affirmed its commitment to maintaining a partnership with Azam TV, a Tanzanian-based pay television channel. This collaboration is intended to support the promotion of Kenyan football.
Azam TV, owned by the Bakhresa Group and based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, provides television and radio services to subscribers in several East African countries, including Tanzania, Malawi, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Kenya.
Azam TV currently broadcasts live FKF Premier League matches throughout Kenya. FKF President Hussein Mohammed stated that the agreement with Azam TV will continue as the federation seeks to enhance the league’s profile and overall success.
Mohammed also reported a productive meeting with SportPesa, the league’s title sponsors, led by Global Head of Sponsorships Allan McTavish. Discussions centered on developing a unified strategy to advance the league, improve competitiveness, and address challenges affecting the development of Kenyan football, including infrastructure.
Mohammed expressed appreciation for SportPesa’s support and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to elevate the league.
FKF officials engaged in discussions regarding marketing strategies, broadcast efficiency, and increased visibility with Azam TV representatives. The FKF acknowledged Azam TV’s commitment to Kenyan football and its efforts to broaden the league’s reach.
Azam TV released a statement following the meeting, indicating extensive discussions on shared objectives for the league’s growth and development. The company reiterated its support for elevating the game and expressed excitement about the future of Kenyan football.
Gor Mahia currently leads the FKF Premier League with 43 points from 20 matches. AFC Leopards holds second place with 37 points, having played one match fewer.
