The fourth annual GITEX AFRICA Morocco will be held April 7-9 in Marrakech. The event focuses on fostering a sovereign and sustainable digital economy throughout Africa.
This year’s GITEX AFRICA Morocco is themed «Catalyzing the African Digital Economy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence». The event will gather policymakers, industry leaders, startups, investors, and researchers to examine the possibilities of responsible AI implementation.
The event’s organizers state that it aims to advance digital public policies and expedite the expansion of impactful solutions for the African continent. This initiative supports the Digital for Sustainable Development Hub (D4SD), a collaboration between the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The Digital Development Agency (ADD) and KAOUN International, a subsidiary of the Dubai World Trade Centre, are organizing the event under the supervision of the ministry. Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni stated the goal is to establish digital technology as a key factor in co-development within Africa, ensuring innovation contributes to sustainable development and improved living standards.
Organizers describe the upcoming edition as a catalyst for cross-border collaboration. The event is designed to accelerate the adoption of digital solutions that can strengthen Africa’s economic resilience in the long term.
