Athletics Kenya Halts Partnership with Schorlabook International

Written by on March 12, 2026

Athletics Kenya has suspended all events organized by Schorlabook International within Kenya. The decision stems from alleged non-compliance with event organization requirements outlined in the Sports Act of 2013, which defines Athletics Kenya’s role as the sole national governing body for athletics.

Event Cancellation and Subsequent Dispute

Following the suspension, Schorlabook International proceeded to publicize and organize a ‘time trials/recruitment’ event called ‘Golden Ticket Training,’ scheduled for March 12, 2026, at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru. Information regarding the event was disseminated through social media.

Sports Disputes Tribunal Ruling

Scholarbook Premier Sports Academy challenged the cancellation by filing a dispute with the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDTSC/E015/2026 – Scholarbook Premier Sports v Athletics Kenya). The tribunal issued orders on March 11, 2026, denying the petition to proceed with the event as planned.

Status of the Event and Athlete Advisory

The ‘Golden Ticket Training’ event remains cancelled pending the resolution of the dispute before the Sports Disputes Tribunal. Athletics Kenya has advised all athletes and athlete support personnel to refrain from participating in this event, or any other activities organized by Schorlabook International, until further official communication is provided.

Risks of Non-Sanctioned Participation

Athletics Kenya cautions that participation in events not sanctioned by the federation may expose athletes to regulatory and eligibility risks under both national and international athletics governance frameworks. The organization urges the athletics community to adhere to Athletics Kenya guidelines and verify the status of events with the federation prior to participation.
