Big-name acts bring dance, hip-hop and classic rock to Eisenhower Park | Herald Community Newspapers

Summer concert season is heading into its final encore at Eisenhower Park. Three nationally known acts — electronic dance duo Loud Luxury, rapper Flo Rida and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers ZZ Top — will cap the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre’s summer lineup with three distinctly different nights of music. Here’s what to know before the season wraps up.

1. Loud Luxury brings dance party to the lakeside

Canadian DJ and producer duo Loud Luxury will take the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre stage on Friday, Aug. 21, bringing the electronic dance music sound that has made them festival favorites around the world. Best known for the multi-platinum hit “Body,” the duo of Andrew Fedyk and Joe Depace has built a following through infectious dance tracks blending house music with pop vocals. Their live shows are known for high-energy visuals and crowd interaction, making the performance one of the season’s biggest dance events. Opening the evening will be DJ Caffeine Academy, DJ Dennis the Menace and Just Joe. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at Eisenhower Park’s Field 6.

2. Flo Rida delivers chart-topping hip-hop hits

Few artists have dominated party playlists quite like Flo Rida, who closes out August with a performance on Monday, Aug. 31. Since bursting onto the scene with “Low,” the Florida rapper has produced a string of international hits including “Right Round,” “Club Can’t Handle Me,” “Good Feeling” and “My House.” His music has earned billions of streams and become a staple at sporting events, celebrations and radio stations worldwide. Known for audience participation and nonstop energy, Flo Rida’s concerts feature one recognizable hit after another. The free performance begins at 7 p.m. at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre.

3. ZZ Top closes the season with classic rock

The summer series continues on Tuesday, Sept. 1, when legendary rock band ZZ Top takes the stage. Formed in Texas in 1969, the trio has spent more than five decades defining blues-infused rock with signature songs such as “La Grange,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Legs” and “Gimme All Your Lovin’.” Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, ZZ Top remains one of rock’s most enduring touring acts, known for its unmistakable sound, iconic beards and guitar-driven performances. Fans can expect an evening filled with classic hits as the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre wraps up another summer season with one of its biggest names.
