CAF Reports Record Revenue for Morocco’s 2025 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has declared the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, held in Morocco, the most financially successful edition in the tournament’s history. This assessment is based on significant revenue generation observed during the event.
Revenue Increase
Revenues from the Morocco 2025 AFCON increased by 90 percent compared to prior editions of the Africa Cup of Nations. CAF considers this a record financial achievement for the competition.
Contributing Factors
CAF identified several factors contributing to the increased revenue. These include a notable increase in commercial partners, a wider distribution of media rights, and heightened international interest, particularly from markets in the Far East, including China and Japan.
Sponsorship Growth
The 2025 edition of the tournament secured 23 sponsors. This represents a substantial increase compared to the nine sponsors present at the 2019 AFCON in Cameroon and the 17 sponsors at the 2023 tournament in Ivory Coast.
Commercial Appeal and Hosting Model
CAF stated that these financial figures demonstrate the growing commercial appeal of the Africa Cup of Nations. The confederation also credited Morocco’s hosting model for enhancing the tournament’s global visibility and overall financial performance.
