CAF Unveils New Futsal AFCON Trophy and Visual Identity Before Morocco 2026

Rabat – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled a new trophy and visual identity for the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, marking what the governing body described as a new chapter for the competition.

CAF presented the redesigned elements on Monday ahead of the official draw for the 2026 edition, which was held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé. The tournament will take place in Morocco from October 12 to 21.

The new visual identity was developed to reflect the growth and ambition of African futsal, drawing inspiration from the speed, movement, creativity and intensity that characterize the indoor game.

The new trophy follows the same concept, with several design elements directly linked to futsal.

Five golden arches represent the five players each team fields on the court, while the final arch at the top symbolizes a captain lifting a ball engraved with the African continent.

The trophy also features a matt-gold map of Africa against a polished gold background, reinforcing the competition’s continental identity. Its base carries the tournament’s name, while the reverse includes an engraved roll of honour recognizing previous champions.

CAF said the redesign reflects its efforts to increase the profile of futsal across Africa and promote the improving standard of the sport internationally.

The announcement came on the same day as the tournament draw, which divided the eight qualified nations into two groups.

Hosts and defending champions Morocco were placed in Group A alongside Algeria, Libya and Zambia, while Group B features Egypt, Angola, Mozambique and Tanzania.

All eight countries had already secured their places before Monday’s draw, with Morocco qualifying automatically as hosts.

Morocco will enter the tournament seeking a fourth consecutive continental title after winning the previous three editions in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

The Atlas Lions’ most recent triumph came on home soil in 2024, when they defeated Angola 5-1 in the final in Rabat.

The October competition will therefore combine Morocco’s latest title defense with CAF’s newly introduced branding and trophy, giving the 2026 edition a distinct visual identity as African futsal continues to expand.
