Cincinnati’s Black Music Walk of Fame to induct 2 local legends

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Cincinnati’s Black Music Walk of Fame is adding more local legends, including a chart-topping band and a pioneering radio station.

The legendary RnB and disco group Heatwave is joining the Class of 2026. The group lit up the 1970s Billboard charts with hits including “Boogie Nights,” and its founding member wrote “Thriller” for Michael Jackson.

Also being inducted is WCIN, founded in 1953. The station is the oldest Black radio station east of the Mississippi River.

The induction ceremony is Saturday at the Andrew J. Brady Music Center.
