CTIJF Announces Program and Design Changes for March

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival has unveiled a refreshed brand identity, sparking conversation online. Organizers state the update aims to align the festival with current global trends while preserving its established identity.

International Performers

The upcoming festival edition will feature several international artists. Confirmed performers include the jazz fusion group Yellowjackets, multi-instrumentalist and composer Jacob Collier, and UK saxophonist Jasmine Myra.

Local Line-up

The local line-up includes veteran and contemporary musicians. Featured artists are Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, pianist Nduduzo Makhathini, Carlo Mombelli presenting Chapter 7, Dr Sibusiso “Mash” Mashiloane, and the Ongoing Rehearsal Our-Ke(s)tra.

Diverse Musical Acts

The festival program includes artists expanding beyond traditional jazz genres. Scorpion Kings, Jazzwrld & Thukuthela, BCUC, Manana, Lordkez, Jabulile Majola, and Rorisang Sechele are also scheduled to perform. Additional performers are expected to be announced in the future.

Educational Initiatives

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival continues to offer educational and community programs. Workshops will cover topics such as artist branding and professional development for jazz musicians, designed to support artists at various stages of their careers.

Youth Programme

A youth-focused program is planned for February 28. The CTIJF Jazz Orchestra will conduct a workshop and showcase at the Artscape Theatre Centre for students from underserved communities. This initiative supports skills development and aims to broaden the festival’s audience.
