Fung and Miller win Canada’s first international diving medal

Katelyn Fung and Kate Miller secured a bronze medal in the women’s synchronized 10-metre event at the Montreal Diving World Cup on Saturday, marking their first international podium finish as a team. The competition took place in Montreal, Canada.
Women’s Synchronized 10-Metre Event
Fung, from London, Ontario, and Miller, a student at the University of Southern California, achieved a total score of 296.94 points. Their highest-scoring dives were their final two, earning 69.12 and 73.92 points respectively. This placed them just ahead of the Australian team, who were provisionally in second place. The gold medal was awarded to Lu Wei and Zhang Minjie of China (349.98), and the silver to Jo Jin Mi and Kim Mi Hwa of North Korea (304.92). Miller intends to increase her training frequency in Montreal to prepare for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Men’s Synchronized Three-Metre Event
Nathan Zsombor-Murray and Carson Paul competed as a team for the first time in the men’s synchronized three-metre event, finishing fourth with a score of 389.55. They were narrowly edged out of a podium position by Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher of Great Britain (393.66) by a margin of 4.11 points. Wang Zongyuan and Zheng Jiuyuan of China claimed the gold medal (461.37), and Juan Celaya Hernandez and Osmar Olvera Ibara of Mexico secured the silver (441.63).
