The Illinois Supreme Court has announced the creation of a new Pretrial Accountability Task Force.
According to the court, the task force will examine Illinois’ pretrial system and recommend ways to improve fairness, transparency, and public safety.
The group will include judges, attorneys, law enforcement officials, and other justice system stakeholders.
Officials say the task force is expected to study data, review statewide practices, and develop recommendations for the Illinois court system.
