The 2025-2026 Kenya Cup rugby campaign resumes after the Christmas break with several matches scheduled for today. Former champions KCB are aiming for their fourth consecutive win against Nakuru.
Kenya Cup Matches
KCB has enjoyed a strong start to the season, securing victories over Impala (87–5), Kisumu (41–10), and Strathmore Leos (72–14). Despite these dominant performances, KCB currently sits third in the league table with 15 points, tied with Kabras Sugar RFC and Menengai Oilers, but with a lower points difference. Kabras and Oilers have points differences of 242 and 217, respectively, compared to KCB’s 171.
KCB head coach Andrew Amonde expressed confidence in his team’s form and ambitions, stating a desire to maintain their winning streak as the season progresses. The team has strengthened its squad through strategic signings, including Richel Wangila and Sheldon Kahi from Kenya Harlequins, Richard Liva from Impala, Michael Odhiambo from Daystar Falcons, and unattached players Owen Otieno, Bernard Omukati, Kevin Sikutwa, and Nelson Meaki. Amonde believes these additions will deepen competition within the squad and provide a competitive edge.
Elsewhere, Kenya Harlequin will host Nondescripts in the Ngong Road derby at the RFUEA Grounds. The match carries significance for both teams, with Quins in sixth place with nine points and Nondies in seventh with eight points.
Kenyatta University Blak Blad will welcome MMUST in a varsity derby on Thika Road. Menengai Oilers are scheduled to play Strathmore Leos in Nairobi, while Kabras Sugar will visit Kisumu RFC at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium.

NYS Spades will travel to Juja to face JKUAT Cougars. USIU Martials will square off with Mwamba RFC, and Homeboyz will take on Zetech Oaks. Kisii RFC will play Western Bulls, and Mombasa RFC will host South Coast Pirates in a coastal rivalry match.
