Kenya Police FC seek top-four spot against Bidco United

Kenya Police FC is scheduled to host Bidco United at the Police Sacco Stadium on Monday evening. Kickoff for the SportPesa League round 19 clash is set for 4pm EAT.

League Standings and Recent Form

Kenya Police FC currently occupies sixth place in the league standings with 28 points. The team is undergoing a transitional period under the guidance of new head coach Nicholas Muyoti, who recently replaced Dusan Stojanovic. Police FC is aiming to regain momentum after a recent 1-0 loss to Bandari. Bidco United sits in 17th position with 15 points, facing relegation concerns. The team has struggled for consistency this season, securing only three wins and remaining winless in their last thirteen matches under coach Anthony Akhulia, following a 2-1 defeat to Murang’a Seal.

Team News and Injury Updates

Kenya Police FC has added Harambee Stars strength and conditioning coach Musa Bafana to their squad, with him overseeing training sessions this week. David Owino has also returned from an injury layoff. Bidco United has no major fresh injury concerns. Emanuel Nyabuti, who had been out for two seasons following surgery, recently returned to the squad and featured as a substitute against Gor Mahia.

Coaches’ Perspectives

Anthony Akhulia, coach of Bidco United, stated, “Playing Police FC at their backyard is one of the toughest assignments in the league. We know they are a quality side, but we have worked on our defensive organization and with the new signings, we need points to move away from the danger zone.”

Past Encounters and Current Objectives

In the first-leg match earlier this season, Police FC narrowly defeated Bidco United 3-2 at the Nyayo National Stadium. Historically, Police FC has dominated this fixture, winning the last five consecutive league meetings. Bidco United’s current winless streak of thirteen matches is the longest in the league this season. A victory for Police FC could propel them into third place, bolstering their title aspirations. Conversely, a win for Bidco United would provide crucial relief in their fight against relegation.
