The Memorandum of Understanding formalizes the establishment and operation of the Kenya Ports Authority’s Liaison Office in Kigali. This office will provide port services directly to Rwandan businesses.
Trade Facilitation and Efficiency
The collaboration is expected to enhance trade facilitation by bringing port services closer to the Rwandan business community. It also aims to improve the efficiency of cargo clearance and forwarding processes.
Regional Connectivity and Cooperation
The initiative seeks to strengthen regional connectivity through the Port of Mombasa. It reaffirms a commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, promoting regional integration, and supporting the seamless movement of goods within the East African Community.
