Written by on March 8, 2026

President William Ruto addressed the recent missile strikes in the Gulf region in a statement released on March 2. The statement condemned the attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain.

Regional Response to Missile Strikes

Ruto’s statement focused on the countries impacted by the missile strikes. It did not mention Iran, the United States, or Israel, despite the attacks occurring in response to a US-Israel offensive that resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The statement did not acknowledge Iran’s response to the prior action.
