KFS Launches Tender for Hotel and Mall Development

In November 2025, KFS released a tender for bidders interested in developing a 4-star hotel and a shopping mall within the Talanta Sports City complex. The tender, designated Bid No. KFS/01/2025-2026, specified a phased development approach, with the hotel occupying a three-acre plot and the shopping mall taking up five acres.

The hotel is planned as the first phase of a larger hospitality initiative, with future hotels of varying capacities intended to meet the needs of sports tourists. These hotels will be developed on KFS land, designed to blend with the surrounding forest environment.

A Vision for Sports-Related Hospitality

The Talanta Sports City project aims to provide exceptional services for sports tourism and solidify Nairobi’s reputation as a hub for regional sports and cultural activities. The tendering process, which closed on November 20, 2025, required bidders to meet stringent qualifications and submit detailed plans for development, design, construction, and operation.

Completion Dates and Future Prospects

Construction on the Talanta Sports City complex is progressing rapidly, with external works expected to be completed by the end of December 2025. The stadium is set to be fully operational by February 2026.
