Kitale Film Week has announced the jury panel for its upcoming eight-day event. The festival is scheduled to run from February 22 to March 1.
The jury for the 2026 Kitale Film Week includes Gbenga Adeoti, founder of FilmJoint; Michael Mooleedhar from Trinidad and Tobago; Chloe Genga, a Kenyan film industry professional; and Farah Souai, a Tunisian distributor. Veteran Kenyan film executive Mudamba Mudamba will oversee the event.
Kitale Film Week focuses on highlighting human rights, nature, and climate justice through African cinema. The festival incorporates several initiatives including a Film in Education program, a Youth Critics Circle, a NextGen Filmmaking Workshop, and the North Rift and Western Kenya Film & TV Summit. Organizers state these programs aim to foster talent, encourage policy discussions, and connect local narratives with international opportunities.
The festival will culminate in an awards ceremony on March 1 at the Deepsea Resort in Kitale. The ceremony will recognize the winners selected from the week’s screenings and programs.
