Melodic Black Metal romanticizes melancholic classical music: FERNDAL dropped 1st single, “Asuras”!

Black Metal romanticises melancholic classical music:
With “Asuras”, Germany’s FERNDAL announce their third studio album. “Asuras” marks the next step in the evolution of FERNDAL’s musical repertoire – an album that preserves the band’s characteristic sound whilst simultaneously developing it further with new intensity and profound soundscapes.

FERNDAL blend Black Metal with classical music, aggression with baroque grace, and frenzy with romantic melancholy. In doing so, the band create a unique style in which guitars, cello, screams and clean vocals coexist on an equal footing. At FERNDAL’s live performances, founding members and new band members come together, combining continuity and experience with fresh energy and renewed vigour.

The first single, “Asuras”, for which there is an official music video, has now been released. Watch the official music video on YouTube
and stream the single on all major digital platforms.

A behind-the-scenes look at FERNDAL’s upcoming album “Asuras”, which will be available from 4 December 2026 on CD and digitally via Bandcamp and on all major streaming platforms.

“Asuras” delves into the darker recesses of the human mind, where seduction and manipulation, power and ideology lead to inner decay and the loss of free will, whilst, on the threshold of something new, a longing for liberation arises.

The new album, with a total running time of 40:57 minutes, was produced in autumn 2024 by the long-established producer Markus Stock at the legendary Studio E. Joris van Gelre (Bezweering, Nodfyr) features as a guest vocalist.

The band says of the music on the upcoming album:
“Power, grandeur and sincerity define FERNDAL’s artistic identity. With pride and an aristocratic air of confidence, the band cultivates an aesthetic of cool elegance. Underpinning this is a strong musical passion and uncompromising independence. Artistic seriousness and personal expression meet an emotional force that immediately captivates the listener.”
