MTN Group President and Chief Executive Officer Ralph Mupita on Wednesday met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) First Deputy Managing Director Dan Katz, who is visiting South Africa for meetings with government authorities and representatives of the private sector.
Katz was accompanied by his Advisor, Matthew Jones; IMF Mission Chief for South Africa, Delia Velculescu; and IMF Senior Resident Representative and Head of the South Africa Office, Tidiane Kinda. The CEO was accompanied by MTN Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer Nompilo Morafo, Treasury Executive Thuto Shomang and Chief of Staff Jerry Varachia.

Given MTN’s pan-African presence and position, as well as our role in advancing digital and financial inclusion, the discussion centred on the macroeconomic outlook across our key markets of South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana.
