The Ndlovu Youth Choir will embark on a national tour of South Africa in 2026. Performances are scheduled in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Tickets for all tour dates are currently available for purchase through showtime.co.za and ticketmaster.co.za.
The tour will begin at Cape Town’s Artscape Opera House, with performances from February 5 to 8, 2026. The tour will conclude at the Teatro at Montecasino in Johannesburg, from July 30 to August 2, 2026.
The 2026 programme will feature a greater focus on South African musical traditions, alongside the choir’s established reinterpretations of international repertoire. The setlist will include genres such as gospel, ghoema, and an amapiano medley. Songs from artists including Mango Groove, Hugh Masekela, Johnny Clegg, and Miriam Makeba will be featured.
Well-known local songs like ‘African Dream’ and ‘Pata Pata’ will be performed, alongside African-themed global tracks such as ‘Circle of Life’ and ‘Waka Waka’. The repertoire will also include international works frequently associated with the ensemble, including Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and Puccini’s ‘Nessun Dorma’.
Founded in 2009 in Limpopo’s Moutse Valley as a community outreach initiative, the Ndlovu Youth Choir has become a significant cultural export from South Africa. The ensemble is recognized for its combination of choral harmonies and choreography inspired by African performance traditions.
The choir has previously performed at events and venues internationally, including Germany’s Africa Festival, the AFAS Theatre in the Netherlands, and Carnegie Hall in New York. Past performances have been for Trevor Noah, King Charles III, and Bill Gates.
