‘Nothing Will Stop Us’: Gachagua Rallies Mt Kenya | Dawan Africa

Kenya, 1 August 2026 – Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday intensified his campaign to unseat President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, taking his grassroots mobilisation drive to Laikipia and Nyeri counties where he vowed that the opposition would not relent until it forms the next government.

Addressing supporters during his meet-the-people tour in Nanyuki Town, Laikipia County, and Naromoru Town in Nyeri County, the former Deputy President said the opposition had embarked on what he described as a mission to rescue the country from poor governance and restore public confidence in leadership.

“We have embarked on a mission to rectify the injustices inflicted upon Kenya by this rogue administration. This marks the beginning of a new chapter dedicated to reclaiming our nation from looters, mismanagement, anarchists and kakistocracy,” Gachagua told cheering supporters.

He described the large crowds that turned up in Nanyuki as evidence that Kenyans were yearning for political change ahead of the next polls.

“Nanyuki Town stands as a shining example of a people yearning for change, and indeed, change is on the horizon,” he said, thanking residents for what he termed their resilience and commitment to the opposition’s agenda.

The DCP leader later addressed another rally in Naromoru, where he urged residents to remain united behind what he called the dream of building a prosperous and inclusive Kenya.

“Narumoru leads from the front in the Kenyan dream of prosperity and a productive people. We have agreed that nothing will stand between us and the great Republic our forefathers fought for,” he said.
