Ecobank Nigeria has launched a new digital banking platform designed to assist business owners in Nigeria. The platform aims to reduce delays and operational inefficiencies for businesses.

New Digital Banking Platform for Nigerian Businesses

The Ecobank Business app is intended to support the growth and sustainability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Nigeria. It allows businesses to manage payments, monitor transactions, oversee cash flow, and conduct day-to-day financial operations using mobile devices. The app is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Supporting SMEs Through Digital Innovation

The introduction of the app reinforces Ecobank’s commitment to empowering SMEs through digital innovation, tailored financial solutions, and support services. These include structured loans, trade support, guarantees, and equipment financing. The initiative also aims to reactivate dormant SME accounts, expand market reach, encourage digital adoption, and facilitate value-chain financing through partnerships.

Addressing Challenges for Diverse Businesses

According to Ecobank Nigeria’s Executive Director for Consumer and Commercial Bank, Mr Kola Adeleke, the Ecobank Business App was developed to address the specific challenges faced by Nigerian SMEs. The platform is designed to serve a wide range of businesses, including traders, retailers, tech start-ups, online businesses, hospitality operators, farmers, agro-processors, manufacturers, construction firms, professionals, social commerce entrepreneurs, schools, associations, and organizations.

Features and Benefits for Various Sectors

The app provides faster payment collection for merchants and retailers, seamless digital transactions for online businesses, and efficient vendor and staff management for hospitality businesses. It also offers timely payment solutions for agricultural value chains and secure handling of bulk and high-value transactions for manufacturers and construction firms. Professionals such as lawyers and consultants can use the app to issue invoices and receive payments, while schools and associations can streamline fees, dues, and reporting.
