Support Black-Owned Alcohol Brands This Month

Several Black-owned alcohol and beverage brands are elevating the industry with unique offerings and rich cultural narratives. August marks Black Business Month, providing an opportunity to support these businesses and celebrate their contributions.

1. E-40 — ON1 Infusion Wine

Hip-hop artist Earl “E-40” Stevens recently launched ON1 Infusion Wine, a new line of fruit-infused Moscatos. The flavors include Mango, Mixed Berry, Peach, Pineapple, and Strawberry. Each bottle, crafted in Napa Valley, has a 16% ABV and a vibrant, tropical flavor profile suitable for sipping alone or in cocktails.

ON1 is available at earlstevensselections.com for approximately $10.99. It joins E-40’s existing portfolio of spirits, which includes Earl Stevens Selections wines, E. Cuarenta Tequila, Tycoon Cognac and Vodka, Kuiper Belt Gin and Bourbon, Sluricane cocktails, and E. Cuarenta Cerveza lager.

2. Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey

Named after Nathan “Nearest” Green, the first known African American master distiller, Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey has become a fast-growing brand in the spirits industry. The whiskey is known for its smooth blends and rich caramel notes.

3. McBride Sisters Wine Collection

Founded by sisters Robin and Andréa McBride, this wine label combines their New Zealand and California roots to create elegant, fruit-forward wines. Their SHE CAN canned wine spritzers also support a scholarship fund for women in the wine industry.

4. Greenwood Whiskey

Inspired by Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District, also known as “Black Wall Street,” Greenwood Whiskey crafts small-batch whiskey that honors resilience and excellence.

5. Crown & Hops Brewing Co.

Beny Ashburn and Teo Hunter’s Inglewood-based brewery is redefining craft beer culture with hazy IPAs, pilsners, and stouts that emphasize Black community and ownership.

6. HH Bespoke Spirits

Designers (and twin brothers) Andre and Teniece Wright created HH Bespoke Gin, Rum, and Vodka, infused with global botanicals for a refined taste.

7. Maison Noir Wines

Sommelier André Hueston Mack produces Oregon-made wines with a playful and spirited approach, featuring names like “Love Drunk” rosé and “Other People’s Pinot.”

8. Ten To One Rum

Marc Farrell’s Caribbean-inspired rum line blends heritage and innovation, offering unaged, dark, and limited-edition reserve bottles. Rihanna is an investor in the brand.

9. Black Girl Magic Wines

Also from the McBride Sisters, this line celebrates the beauty, power, and resilience of Black women, with popular selections including the Riesling and Red Blend.

10. Speakeasy Co. x Du Nord Social Spirits

Based in Minneapolis, Du Nord is the first Black-owned distillery in the U.S. They offer a range of spirits, including vodka and whiskey, and are involved in community economic initiatives.

These Black-owned alcohol brands offer exceptional beverages while also sharing stories, preserving history, and creating new traditions. Supporting these businesses is a way to celebrate Black entrepreneurship and culture.
