For Nippa, “Homegrown” represents more than a new release—it’s the first song written, recorded, and released as his career begins to expand beyond the UK. Built around soulful harmonies, hazy production, and effortless chemistry between Nippa and Blxst, the track celebrates where they’ve come from while embracing the possibilities that lie ahead. It’s a reminder that no matter how far life takes you, home is never something you leave behind.
“Homegrown is about carrying your roots with you wherever you go,” says Nippa. “Making this record between London and Los Angeles with Blxst felt right because it’s about representing where we’re from.”
The accompanying video mirrors that sentiment, seamlessly weaving together moments from North London and South Central Los Angeles. Whether surrounded by lifelong friends on the streets of Tottenham or embracing the energy of Los Angeles alongside Blxst, Nippa celebrates the people and places that shaped him while stepping confidently into an international spotlight.
The new song is already making waves. “Homegrown” is the official soundtrack of the 2026/27 uniforms for Tottenham Hotspur F.C., the Premier League football club that represents the neighborhood in North London where the singer was raised. “This is a song for the community,” he said in a celebratory article for the Spurs. “This feels like it was meant for Tottenham.”
The release arrives at a pivotal moment. During BET Awards Weekend, Nippa made a lasting impression stateside with a standout performance at ‘TheBasement Series’ in Los Angeles, to a room filled with artists, tastemakers, and industry leaders. The performance marked another milestone in a grassroots journey that has seen the independent singer build a devoted following through undeniable songwriting, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to his craft.
Raised in Tottenham, Nippa has emerged as one of the defining new voices in UK R&B, crafting what he calls “hood R&B”—a soulful blend of melodic storytelling, contemporary production, and lived experience.
His acclaimed projects INDUSTREETS and Hope She Hears This earned praise from Billboard, NME, and Dazed, a MOBO Award nomination, and recognition as one of Billboard’s R&B Artists to Watch in 2025, all while cultivating a loyal audience on his own terms.
Now, “Homegrown” opens the door to an exciting new era. As Nippa continues collaborating with artists across the Atlantic and bringing his unmistakable voice to new audiences, the single serves as the first glimpse of much more music to come.
