Tierra Whack and Conductor Williams Deliver Gritty Hip-Hop on “WAX PAPER”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Maybe this is recency bias, but I think Tierra Whack is better than every single rapper in the game today.

Tierra Whack’s upcoming album Whack’s Museum is scheduled to arrive on June 19, and “WAX PAPER” serves as one of the final previews before its release. While many artists use promotional singles to chase trends or radio play, this record feels designed to highlight Tierra’s rapping ability above all else.

The production comes courtesy of Conductor Williams, whose signature style gives the track a gritty and unsettling atmosphere. The instrumental feels rugged, minimal, and intentionally uncomfortable at times, creating a sense of tension that never fully disappears.

Over the beat, Tierra touches on several topics, including her pursuit of money, her confidence in her abilities, and her standing within the rap game. She also acknowledges questions surrounding her musical output, offering listeners a brief explanation for her relative absence from rap-focused releases.

The most notable aspect of the song is her delivery. Tierra attacks the beat with sharp flows, frequent cadence changes, and a steady stream of punchlines. Her performance remains engaging throughout, even when the subject matter stays relatively straightforward.

“WAX PAPER” doesn’t reveal everything about Whack’s Museum, but it does establish a clear tone. If the album follows a similar path, listeners can expect a project built around tension, lyricism, and strong performances.
