Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine has alleged widespread fraud in the recent presidential election. Military chief Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of President Yoweri Museveni, has made threatening statements toward Wine.
Former pop star Bobi Wine, who was the runner-up in the election, stated he fled his home following a military raid. Veteran President Yoweri Museveni was declared the landslide winner of last week’s presidential election. Wine has released several statements since Saturday from undisclosed locations.
Muhoozi Kainerugaba, widely believed to be Museveni’s preferred successor, made a series of threats against Wine in posts on X. He gave Wine 48 hours to surrender to the police, stating he would be treated as an outlaw if he did not. Kainerugaba also referenced Wine’s National Unity Platform party, stating that 22 members had been killed and expressing a wish for Wine’s
