The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has reported that a security control has flagged a user request as malicious activity. The university employs various security measures to protect its systems.

According to a message displayed by the university, the flagged request occurred on January 15, 2026, at 04:25:09. The IP address associated with the request was 173.231.221.75. The URL being accessed at the time was https://sph.unc.edu/sph-news/unc-researchers-receive-best-paper-award-for-breakthrough-study-on-african-biomass-smoke/.
