Student protests have continued for a fifth day in Albania’s capital Tirana as students gathered outside the Ministry of Education to continue to demonstrate against poor education facilities, rising living costs and alleged government corruption.
The protests quickly turned violent with footage showing protesters throwing molotov cocktails towards police.
In response, riot police have clashed with the protesters, using tear gas and water cannons to disperse them.
The protesters have demanded the resignation of the country’s Prime Minister Edi Rama, but he is reported to be resisting demands to step down.
