The project invites students to create short audiovisual essays using fragments of selected Wajda films provided by the organizers. Participants are encouraged to approach the material freely and creatively – through montage, reinterpretation, narration, sound, subtitles, or other original cinematic ideas.

The competition aims to inspire a contemporary dialogue with one of the most important filmmakers in Polish and world cinema and to encourage intercultural artistic exchange between emerging filmmakers from around the world.

Who can apply?
• students over 18 currently enrolled in film schools or universities with film-related programs outside Poland
• applicants will need to provide confirmation of their student status from their university

Important dates:
• registration deadline: 30 June 2026
• submission deadline: 24 August 2026
• results announcement: 15 September 2026

The Main Prize is an unique study visit to Poland following the artistic legacy of Andrzej Wajda, including meetings with filmmakers, and visits to places connected with his life and work. Also the best ten selected works will be published online.
