Recent protests in the Netherlands escalated into violence, drawing criticism from across the political spectrum. Dutch officials have publicly denounced the actions against law enforcement.

Justice Minister Foort van Oosten stated that violence against police is “absolutely unacceptable” and urged demonstrators to refrain from targeting officers. She emphasized the importance of peaceful demonstration while protecting law enforcement personnel.
Far-right leader Geert Wilders also condemned the violence, referring to the protesters as “idiots.”
Frans Timmermans, leader of the Dutch Labor-Green alliance, attributed the situation to “Trumpian conditions” and criticized politicians he believes are contributing to division. He encouraged individuals to voice their opinions.
