Fayetteville Ranks Second for Black-Owned Businesses Per Capita

A LendingTree study examined the prevalence of Black-owned businesses across U.S. metropolitan areas. The study’s findings indicate Fayetteville, North Carolina, currently holds the second position in this ranking.
Black-Owned Business Statistics
The LendingTree study, analyzing data through 2022, revealed that 3.3% of all U.S. businesses are Black-owned. This represents a 22.2% increase compared to the prior year.
Fayetteville’s Ranking
Fayetteville previously held the top ranking in 2019, with 11.2% of its businesses being Black-owned. Data limitations prevented the city’s inclusion in the 2020 and 2021 rankings. As of 2022, Black-owned businesses constitute 10.1% of Fayetteville’s business market, placing it second nationally.
