FloodHounds, a musical trio from Yorkshire, have released a music video for their latest single, Black & Blue. The track, initially released in September 2025, has become a popular choice among fans.
Black & Blue explores feelings of uncertainty and the space between falling apart and reaching out. The song is described as having a raw, adrenaline-fueled energy, characterized by FloodHounds’ signature fuzz-pot bluesy rock sound and a punk snarl. Frontman Jack Flynn describes the song as being about the feeling of being knocked back and left reeling when something unexpected happens, grappling with the impact of that event, and feeling bruised but still energized.
FloodHounds have been developing their sound for years, performing at events like BBC Introducing slots at Tramlines and playing venues in Paris. They have shared the stage with bands including Kid Kapichi, The Family Rain, The Blinders, PINS, Projector, King Nun, Strange Bones, and Calva Louise.
The band recently recorded new tracks with producer Gavin Monaghan (Kid Kapichi, The Blinders) and have received support from Apple Music, Amazon Music, and BBC Radio. Notably, a group of Japanese actors and filmmakers independently created a music video for their track Quicksand. The new music video for Black & Blue was created solely by frontman Jack Flynn, who noted it was filmed on a phone with no budget.
Black & Blue is now available. FloodHounds have upcoming live performances scheduled for:
March 8, 2026 – Sheffield – Sidney & Matilda
May 16, 2026 – Manchester – After All Festival
