Thousands of people participated in demonstrations across France on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The protests addressed concerns regarding racism, far-right ideology, and alleged police violence.
Rallies took place in 102 cities throughout France, including Paris, Lille, Marseille, and Lyon. The demonstrations were coordinated by a coalition of civil society groups and anti-racism organizations.
In Paris, protesters assembled at Place de la Nation and marched to Place de la Republique. Banners displayed messages such as “Racism is not an opinion, it is a crime” and “No to police violence.” Participants also voiced demands for justice for individuals who died during police encounters and stronger protections against discrimination affecting minority communities.
Some demonstrators expressed criticism of President Emmanuel Macron’s policies, chanting slogans related to workers’ rights and social justice.
Pro-Palestinian activists joined the march, advocating for an end to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. They also condemned the Middle East policies of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
A group of protesters, carrying Iranian and Lebanese flags, called for an end to attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran and Lebanon.
France has experienced repeated demonstrations in recent years concerning policing, discrimination, and broader social tensions. Organizers stated that Saturday’s protests aimed to highlight what they consider systemic racism and an increase in far-right rhetoric.
