Kenya to Host 2026 World Health Summit Regional Meeting

Nairobi, January 22, 2026 – Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale met with Prof. Lukoye Atwoli, Dean and International President of the World Health Summit Regional Meeting (WHSRM) 2026, to discuss preparations for the upcoming event. Kenya is set to host the forum at the United Nations Offices in Nairobi from April 27–29, 2026.

The summit, themed “Reimagining African Health Systems: Innovation, Integration, and Interdependence,” anticipates over 2,000 delegates from more than 50 countries. This includes global health leaders, policymakers, researchers, and development partners.

Summit Preparations and Alignment with UHC

Health Cabinet Secretary Duale, accompanied by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni, stated the summit’s theme aligns with Kenya’s national efforts toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The event is viewed as an opportunity to establish Nairobi as a continental hub for health innovation.

The World Health Summit Regional Meeting will serve as a platform for discussing health challenges, sharing solutions, and strengthening collaboration.
