The Kenyan national women’s football team, Harambee Starlets, has advanced in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings. The team’s recent performance has resulted in a climb of five places.
Harambee Starlets now hold the 128th position globally. This improvement is attributed to a strong showing during the FIFA Women’s Series held in Nairobi.
Kenya participated in the FIFA Women’s Series at the Nyayo National Stadium. The team secured victories against Malawi and India, and a loss to Australia. These results contributed to an increase in the team’s coefficient points.
The Starlets’ rise in the rankings reinforces their reputation as one of the most improved teams in the region. Spain currently holds the top spot worldwide with 2,083 points, followed by the United States, England, Germany, and Japan. Nigeria is the highest-ranked African nation at 36th, with South Africa in 58th place and Ghana in 59th.
