Nigeria’s Larry Gaaga named gamma VP for Africa – Music In Africa

The move follows the company’s expansion to Africa and the Middle East in May, with South African music executive Sipho Dlamini as president of the new divisions.

Gaaga, whose last job was as vice-president for A&R at Def Jam Africa, will serve in the role of vice-president/general manager for Africa and will be based in Lagos. His primary focus will involve providing strategic direction for long-term success, driving revenue growth and expanding market reach across Africa. He will spearhead initiatives to develop local talent, ensuring their success both domestically and on the global stage through collaborations and partnerships with the wider group.

The company also named veteran Arab artist and DJ Dany Neville as vice-president, A&R, Middle East, and will be based in Dubai.

Launched in March, gamma’s partnerships with US rapper Snoop Dogg, for exclusive rights to market and distribute the iconic Death Row Records catalogue and new music, Rick Ross and rising R&B star October London, among others.
